Quality Point Index (QPI)
The Quality Point Index (QPI) determines
a students rank in class. The QPI is based on semester
grades earned in courses that are leveled to reflect the
scope
and depth at which a course is taught. Using weighted
or ranked courses only, the QPI is determined
by dividing the sum of the total points a student earns
by
her total credits attempted. A course ending in a 9
is not ranked and does not count toward class rank. Class
rank is calculated at the end of the first semester junior
year.
